Welcome the the Spirometry QC Reviewer Project

The objective of this project is to attempt to obtain some consensus on what represents a good test and to simulate discussion.  For those who have completed their comparison reviews or who are not participating in the reviews, you may want to view Examples of Discordant Tests section.  The Discordant Tests were selected as examples of the most disagreement between 4-reviewers.  This site can also be used for training  purposes where you can view 253 sample tests; and after grading, can view comments by a senior reviewer.

To assist in your assessment, computer determined grades are calculated - click Here to see the definitions for the computer determined grades.  However, these should only be used as a guide and you should decided what grade to assign to the FVC and FEV1 for the test.

One key determinant of an acceptable curve is the end of test, perhaps one of the most controversial issue in determining if a curve is acceptable.  A brief description of End of Test Issues is available and should be viewed prior to participating in the QC review project. You may also want to view the Frequently Asked Questions link.  A General Approach will be available later where comments are welcomed.

You must register and receive a User ID and Password to participate in the quality review project.  A Sample Screen shows a sample test and how your  grades will be entered and an Explanation of the sample screen is also shown.  There are approximately 253 adult tests to review obtained from the NHANES III normal population study.

Already registered, click Here to log into reviewer site.  You will need a User ID and Password, otherwise contact us at info@occspiro.com to register.
